ALLISON THE BOOKMAN 1973 to 2013
About Us

Allison the Bookman is a company that stemmed from the dreams and love of books of the late Gordon Stanley Allison. He founded the company with his wife Esther in 1973 and after his passing in 1995 it was managed by his son, the late Derrick Stanley Allison. In 2006 Derrick opened One Stop Books at the North Bay Mall, and incorporated the two stores in 2009. The goals have always been to sell adventures to people, to let them explore their imagination through reading books. This is what truly defines who we are and what we love. The stores are now continuing in the traditions of the past with a 3rd generation of Allison’s who believe what their father and grandfather believed about books and customer service.

OUR VISION:

Our vision is to sell the ‘novel’ adventures with a pleasant customer experience that lets people know we care about their needs. This includes going back to old fashioned customer service values.

Our Mission

"To provide a pleasant, rewarding experience in a family friendly atmosphere wherein our vast selections of books are the keys that open the doors of imagination, knowledge, and understanding to all who enter."
